This research study is recruiting collegiate African American Football players in the greater Los Angeles Area. Potential participants will have played high school football. If you are a college football player in the greater Los Angeles area, we are interested in your athletic and academic journey. Please feel free to share this with any college football player in the greater Los Angeles ares.
The goal of the research study is to capture the lived experience of African American male football players regarding their academic and athletic motivation, gaining insight and understanding of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in athletics and academics. This study hopes to utilized the student athlete perspective to enhance the academic success of African American males.
Participants will be interviewed and provided opportunities to elaborate on their lived experiences as student-athletes and their intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The interviews will be 30 - 60 minutes and will consist of structure questions. Participants' identities will be confidential.
